Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using OroScout (“the service”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.

2. What OroScout is

OroScout is a shopping search aggregator. We search third-party marketplaces and display their product listings. We are not a retailer — we do not sell goods, hold inventory, process payments, or handle returns. All purchases are made directly with the retailer you choose.

3. Affiliate relationships

OroScout participates in affiliate programs. When you click a product link and complete a purchase we may receive a commission from the retailer at no cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence how results are ranked. See How We Rank for full details.

4. Pricing and availability

Product prices and availability are sourced in real time from partner APIs. Prices shown are indicative and may differ from the price at checkout due to retailer updates, promotions, or currency conversion. Converted prices are approximate and based on daily European Central Bank exchange rates — they do not account for foreign transaction fees your bank may charge.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from OroScout.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or interfere with any part of the service.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• Use the service to submit false or misleading feedback.

6. Accounts

Creating an account is optional. If you do, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your email access. We use magic link authentication — no passwords are stored. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

7. AI features

OroScout uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to power image search and the shopping assistant. AI results are suggestions only and may not always be accurate. Do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions. Search queries processed by AI are not used to train models.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of third-party product data, or suitability of any product for your needs. OroScout is not responsible for any transaction you complete on a third-party retailer's site.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OroScout shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed USD $100.

10. Intellectual property

The OroScout name, logo, and site design are our property. Product images and descriptions belong to their respective retailers and are displayed under license from partner APIs. You may not reproduce OroScout's branding without written permission.

11. Changes to the service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will give reasonable notice for material changes where possible.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
